News and Quotes after SS18

The first edition of the Central European Rally has two winners: The Belgian Thierry Neuville secured the overall victory. Kalle Rovanperä was allowed to be celebrated by the fans as the old and new world champion. Neuville's victory revived the fight for second place. He moved closer to second-placed Elvyn Evens and increased the gap to Ott Tänak.

#69 Kalle Rovanperä (FIN) / Jonne Halttunen (FIN), Toyota GR Yaris Rally1 Hybrid

"I feel really good. I think this year is more important for me personally than last year. The competition was tougher. We did a really good job. The biggest thanks goes to Jonne of course, he is the best co-driver in the world, also the team is the best! A big thank you to the team, to everyone who supports us. My family and of course my good friends - it's nice. I can't say much more. I will enjoy this time more than the first time."

#33 Elfyn Evans (GBR) / Scott Martin (GBR), Toyota GR Yaris Rally1 Hybrid

"To be fair, Kalle was very, very strong on Friday and we didn't have the pace to follow him. It was really important to stay ahead of Thierry. This time it didn't work out - sometimes that's just the way it is. We will try again next year, that's for sure! I wish the boys the best, they've had an incredible season."

#11 Thierry Neuville (BEL) / Martijn Wydaeghe (BEL), Hyundai i20 N Rally1 Hybrid

"First of all, I am really relieved to be at the finish. It was a very demanding, tough weekend. But I think I did a very good job overall. Our consistency paid off in the end. Towards the end, when the conditions became a bit more stable, I started to enjoy it more. I can only thank the team - it was a team effort this weekend and we did it. We can be proud of that. Now we can look forward to the last race of the year and focus on another win."

#8 Ott Tänak (EST) / Martin Järveoja (EST), Ford Puma Rally1 Hybrid

"Podium is always welcome. It's been tough and now with all these junctions it's been difficult to stay on the pace. We just had to manage Seb today and we did that and definitely great for everyone in the team.""A podium is always welcome. #17 Sébastien Ogier (FRA) / Vincent Landais (FRA), Toyota GR Yaris Rally1 Hybrid

"Day 1 was a disaster for us, and after that we had an 'okay rally'. We couldn't do much with our starting position this weekend, but a bit better was still possible. Of course, the puncture didn't help, nor did it help my motivation. Now I'm looking forward to Japan and finishing the season on a high. Kalle has put in another impressive season. I think it's clear that he's the one to win the championship at the moment. Congratulations Kalle, I'm sure it won't be the last."
